New Zealand vs India 1st ODI: The Indian men are set to face New Zealand on Friday (November 25) at 7:00 AM (IST). It’s the first match of the three-match One Day International series and will be played at Eden Park in Auckland.

New Zealand, earlier, lost the T20I series 0-1 to India. The team will be looking for a stronger comeback in a different format, considering the upcoming 50-over Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

India though won the T20I series following a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign. The ‘men in blue’ will be aiming for a victorious run in the ODIs now.

Since 2015, Eden Park has hosted 10 ODIs. However, India have played only two games at this particular venue.

India win the T20I series 1-0; the Shikhar Dhawan-VVS Laxman combo is back

Earlier, India won the rain-affected three-match T20I series against New Zealand 1-0. The side had won the second New Zealand vs India derby in Mount Maunganui, and in the third one, it was a tie.

Furthermore, the last Dhawan captained India in ODIs was against South Africa. The Indian opener was in charge of the team for the three-match series at home in early October. India won that series 2-1, with VVS Laxman being the stand-in coach.

Besides, the second and third New Zealand vs India ODIs are scheduled on November 27 and November 30 in Hamilton and Christchurch, respectively.
