India vs Zimbabwe: India and Zimbabwe locked horns in the final game of the league stage of the T20 World Cup 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. It was an exhibition of high-class performance by the Indian Cricket Team as they were on the top with both bat and ball, clinching the game by runs to enter the semi-finals on high.

The Men in Blue were in a spot of bother when they lost wickets in the middle and were tumbling at 101/4 with both the openers along with Virat Kohli (26) and Rishabh Pant (3) back in the hunt.

However, after that, it was the Suryakumar Yadav show as he yet again stood tall for his side and played an astonishing inning and smashed unbeaten 61 runs to put Indus on the top. He was complimented well by Hardik Pandya, who scored run a ball 18 runs to help India post a total of 185 runs on the board.

Defending the target, Indian pacers were on a roll as all of them struck the crucial blows and left the opposition tottering at 36/5. But after that Sikander Raza and Ryan Burl (35) put on 60 runs partnership to give India a little scare. However, R Ashwin also chipped in and added his name in wickets column and returned with figures of 3/22 in his spell. Raza played a great hand but perished for 34 runs as India completed a comfortable 72 runs win. Axar Patel bagged the last wicket as India bundled out Zimbabwe for just 115 runs to enter the semi final on high.

Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav was awarded the Player of the Match award in the India vs Zimbabwe T20 World Cup 2022 clash. The right-handed set the stage on fire with his sensational innings and helped India post a big total on the board. He smashed unbeaten 61 runs in 25 balls and batted with a strike rate of 244 to go with 6 fours and 4 sixes. He also completed 1000 runs in 2022 and also crossed the 200-run mark in the ongoing tournament.
