3 Young Indian Players That Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Might Bid For

IPL 2023 Auction: 3 Young Indian Players That Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Might Bid For. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) always had superstars in their lineups, from the now-Indian coach Rahul Dravid in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League, to the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle. Yet, they never have really gelled as a unit, and the title has remained elusive.

Royal Challengers Bangalore had a good outing in IPL 2022. In fact, they have been doing well in the last few seasons. That said, the expectation will be that the franchise must go all the way. They do have a few gaps in the squad. The Faf du Plessis-led squad can target a few good IPL 2023 auction signings but can also a few talented cricketers in the IPL 2023 trade window.

Mayank Markande is one of the players RCB can target for the next IPL season in the IPL 2023 trading window. RCB has two leg-spinners in the form of Wanindu Hasaranga and Karn Sharma. While Wanindu will obviously be a part of the XI, Karn Sharma as the backup does not give a lot of confidence. Hence, in addition, the franchise can plan to have a youngster in the unit.

The Punjab spinner has not been getting too many chances in IPL. If he can get a few matches, there is a possibility that he could do well, like in the past. Therefore, he is one of the players RCB can look to sign from Mumbai Indians.

Mayank Markande was traded twice in the same IPL transfer window as he made his way to Rajasthan Royals from Mumbai Indians via Delhi Capitals. It will be a sweet homecoming for this leg-spinner, who made his IPL debut in 2018 and was one of the biggest positives for MI, picking 15 wickets in his maiden season in 14 games averaging 24.53.

In his second IPL match, he picked four wickets and became the third-youngest to do so. While he could only feature in just three games in IPL 2019 and did not get any game time in the IPL 2020, the 25-year-old youngster has picked 17 scalps in 20 games averaging exactly 30. He played only 3 games in 2019, 1 game in 2021, and 2 games in 2022. The 24-year-old may be picked by RCB in IPL 2023 auctions.
