“This Is Not Going To Stop Me, I’m Going To Continue To Learn”- Nicholas Pooran

West Indies Cricket Team suffered a shocking exit in the Qualifiers of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The 2 Time World Cup Champions looked off-color and lacked fighting spirit. Skipper Nicholas Pooran couldn’t lead the team from the front as he was one of the most experienced batters present in the team.

It won’t be wrong to say that the sudden retirement of Kieron Pollard did no good to the team. Under his captaincy, the team was starting to gel and was looking ominous. At the same time, now Phil Simmons has announced that he is resigning from his Head Coach post after the conclusion of the Australia Tests.

Nicholas Pooran on West Indies

Nicholas Pooran was seen at the Super 50 Cup West Indies Regional One Day Cup. “Obviously, we don’t know what the future holds but we will take it day by day. Again, it was a learning experience for all of us and this is our journey and our story. Time will tell what will happen but for now it is just about focusing on ourselves and how we can get better as individuals.”  said Pooran.

“It is not going to stop me. I am going to continue to learn from my experiences and again I am happy I can wake up in the morning and see that I have an opportunity to play cricket again.”  added Pooran.

West Indies in Deep Trouble

The Men in Maroon will automatically qualify for the 2024 T20 WC as they are the joint hosts along with the USA. The team, however, will have to work on their strike rotation as smashing boundaries won’t win them too many matches.

There are chances that senior players like Russell, Narine, and Braithwaite may be called into the team. These players are seen playing a lot of franchise cricket and are immensely experienced. It would be interesting to see what changes West Indies Cricket Board makes to the line up.
